Art in the Park at Yellow Rock. This project came about when Angela Langdon, who lost her home during the fires met with Morna Colbran, manager of Winmalee Neighbour Centre to discuss what projects would be of direct benefit to the Winmalee & Yellow Rock communities. The project grew legs when Morna met with Lani & Libby who had also lost their homes during the Bushfires in 2013. The ladies belonged to a mosaic group called the Merry Mosaicers and wanted to contribute an art piece to the Springwood Hub precinct. When this did not happen Morna began looking for grants to make their idea a reality.

In partnership with Blue Mountains Council and Dan Long, the recovery officer at the time, an application was submitted and was approved. Between Morna, the Merry Mosaicers, Council and a number of other hard working and dedicated people, today stands a beautiful park at Yellow Rock with new play equipment, walking paths and stepping stones and a fantastic piece of mosaic artwork that truly reflects the strength, resilience and spirit of our communities. Well done everyone.
