We have been busy, busy, busy getting the Yellow Rock rural fire station completed, which has now been achieved. We would once again like to acknowledge the tireless efforts and support of businesses both local and further afield and the community who have provided continued support to the Winmalee Rural Fire Brigade for without this support, this project would have not been achievable.
We ask that if you are looking to complete any work around the home, to please consider supporting these businesses.
It has been a long are tiring project and one which we have been very humbled by the support, but extremely proud to be able to provide our community with this fantastic new resource. Whilst, many hands went into making the station a reality, the brigade would like to thank long serving brigade member, Neil Taylor, for his efforts of making the station come together, 24 years was a long time to wait. For all the members past and present who have pushed for this community resource…We did it!
Its Been a long time coming, but construction of the Yellow Rock Rural Fire Station has commenced.
Since 1994, Winmalee RFB have serviced the area of Yellow Rock with a truck located at Winmalee RFB members, Martin and Sue Fabers property on Singles Ridge Road.
Ownership of the property transferred to the Brown family, who continued this support.
This property along with the station shelter was lost during the October 2013 bushfires.
Since this time, Winmalee RFB members have been working tirelessly to secure a designated site to locate the replacement station.
With thanks to Oasis Nursery, this has been achieved, and construction has commenced this past week.
This would not have been possible without the generous donations of the wider community. We will be posting progress photos, with mention of the businesses whom have contributed to the completion of the station.
We are grateful for these generous contributions and encourage you to support these business if you require these services.
